Owning motorcycle insurance is a New Jersey law with the minimum compulsory liability of:
- Bodily Injury Liability Limit for Individual: $15,000
- Bodily Injury Liability Limit for Every Person in Accident: $30,000
- Property Damage Liability Limit: $5,000

Licensing and Registration
In New Jersey, to get a motorcycle license you need a permit and take a road test. To qualify for a motorcycle license without taking the road test you may take an approved Motorcycle Safety Education Program and provide the Driver Testing Center with proof that you successfully completed the course.
